The Interpreter

Shabir Khan leaves Moscow, after the fall of the Taliban, to go and live in Kabul....but in search of work he ends up in Helmand, working as an interpreter.

Come and take a journey with Shabir, who goes on daily patrols along with the American officers into different villages. Come and witness Shabir’s role in connecting the American officers to the local people or to the Afghan officials. Come and see when he goes to train the Afghan army and police. Come and join Shabir when he translates the words of the officers and the Maliks and mullahs to one another.

Come to the deserts of Helmand and watch Shabir’s battle with the Taliban for one day, then imagine what he goes through every day.
