Author Interviews

Shah Fazli
Vikas Pratap Singh, welcome to our live spotlight event, can you please introduce yourself at the start of this interview, and also say something to those who are following your interview live, before we ask you more questions about your poetry? — with Vikas Pratap Singh and 5 others.

Vikas Pratap Singh Hello Shah... Thank you for this great platform to let me interact with my readers and friends

Vikas Pratap Singh Well, to start with I would like to tell you that I am a die-hard Indian. Belong from Mathura. Born and brought up at Faridabad. B.Tech. in ECE from Nit Kurukshetra.

Vikas Pratap Singh I started writing poetry while I joined engg. college and came in contact with fellow poets-cum-friends Ved Prakash Sharma, Navdeep Shukla, Ashish Srivastava. Plus a heartbreak at the same time put me into this expressive ocean and my poetic journey got its jolted start

Poetess Shalini Hi Vikas Pratap Singh, apart from poetry, where are you working now? Do you love your job?

Vikas Pratap Singh Poetry is an ocean of expressions, just like any other formal art. It's my daily refuge from this heartless world. My main motive of scribbling poems irrespective of the language is to put down my excessive whirlpool of thoughts on the paper. I write for myself but a readers base is also what keeps me going. What others gain totally depends on their point of view, but through me, I try to provide them with some semblance of pure emotions of heart in literary manner

Vikas Pratap Singh Poetess Shalini.. Well, currently I am working as a Scientist in a government organisation at Bangalore. I like my job but I don't exactly love it My main aim is to indulge more into literature in the coming times

Shah Fazli Thanks a lot, you have a few published poetry collections, tell us about them, and maybe name a few titles for a few of those published poems please?

Vikas Pratap Singh Yes Shah... actually it was last year during some time in October when I came across Poets Corner's call for an anthology of English poems consisting of amateur as well as recognised poets. The name is Inklinks and it is my first published book with an ISBN
Other than that, Tumbhi also brought out a contest for this year's Valentine special ebook with the name Ehsaas, and 3 of my short poems got eventually selected in it.
International exposure to me was provided by Brian Wrixon of Poets with Voices Strong... with 3 of my poems in 3 different anthologies.... All these and more can be seen at my Goodreads author page -->http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/7055163.Vikas_Pratap_Singh

Vikas Pratap Singhwww.goodreads.com
Author of Inklinks, Ehsaas - Valentine Special eBook, Lovelets, A Haiku Treasury, In Our Own Words, and In Praise - In Memory - In Ink

Poetess Shalini Vikas Pratap Singh would like to read a poem from you, will you share it here?

Vikas Pratap Singh Most recently, one of my poems also found place in 'Lovelets - words for the heart' - an anthology of poems and short stories by Butterfly & The Bee and All About Books

Vikas Pratap Singh Sure Shalini ... here is my first published poem in English -->

Shattered Again
------------

sparkle in my eyes newfound,
twinkling in my smile's frame
just meant to be a short affair
as dreams got shattered again

presence of hers in my life
I could feel, thou' yet to come
short-lived was but positivity
as hopes got battered again

Poetess Shalini Fine Vikas Pratap Singh Say something about your favorite poet and why do you like his/her poems?

Shah Fazli Thanks Vikas, I have heard about Poets Corner a lot from many established poets, what is your feeling about them, how much do you think they have helped you in reaching your goal?

Vikas Pratap Singh hindi short poems from Ehsaas ebook -->

1.

Vikas Pratap Singh My favourite poets are -- Harivanshrai Bachchan, Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Tagore, Robert Frost, Dushyant Kumar among others

Poetess Shalini What do you feel after completing a poem?

Vikas Pratap Singh Bachchan's poems are full of life and romance, Dinkar is best for his zeal and powerful poetic narrative, Frost gives life's mantra in his poems, Tagore is unparalleled in every creation of his, Dushyant Kumar's hindi ghazals are hard-hitting realities

Vikas Pratap Singh Shah... Poets Corner is a very active poetry group of India with Yaseen Anwer as its founder and Neha R. Krishna& Dolly Singh among its executive members. In one word, if I have to describe this group, I would say it's my Godfather to give me the first publishing platform. I hold it in great esteem. Their hindi anthology selections are under way, hope I get a place in it too. That will be awesome

Ankita Singhal if you have to relate poets to a form of nature, what would that be?

Vikas Pratap Singh Shalini.... Nice question... writing a poem is like catching a glimpse of thoughts and idea and capture them in ink. Completing a poem is like living a lifetime, for me atleast. That sense of satisfaction and exhilaration is that 'high' for me which gives me the energy to live another day in this beautiful world

Vikas Pratap Singh Ankita... I believe nature is full of Expressions in its own form... so if it comes to associating a single poet to nature, it becomes really difficult since poetry is build on such expressions only.. but still if you ask me, I find Bachchan the best here

Shah Fazli What would you ask if you come face to face with one of your favourite poets, about himself, about his poetry, about his love life, what would that be?

Vikas Pratap Singh I would certainly like to meet Dinkar - the creator of Rashmirathi and ask him his motivation behind this epic creation of his.
Bachchan, if I meet him, would like to ask him about his love 'lives' since he is the most celebrated love poet of any generation and his true feelings behind his epic creation Madhushala .....

Shah Fazli Thanks, can you read one more of your poems here please, maybe with a theme of love?

Vikas Pratap Singh Sure Shah... this is a hindi ghazal published in the June issue of Roobaru Duniya -->

Vikas Pratap Singh one more english poem published in 'In our own words' -->

Becoming a Poet
---------------------

when feelings feel comfy with you
and thoughts fly like birds
let emotions embed with outstays
just get your way with words

to write a saga of loneliness
to jot down lessons of life
get immersed, compose a verse
a tear, few joys, some jibes

in bits gather your surroundings
in pieces genesis you collect
phrase-portray nature as photographed
in rhyming show some intellect

when times neutral / funny / grieving
your lines could refine crystal clear
and so travels your pen, and inscribes
you become a poet, my dear!

Poetess Shalini Whats your next milestone as a poet.

Vikas Pratap Singh Shalini... I am working towards my Hindi poems getting published soon along with 3 more of my friends whose names I mentioned at the start. First draft of the manuscript is over, we just have to find the publisher now

Apart from that, I am working on a debut novel of mine (in English)... hope it gets completed by 2014 end

Shah Fazli What have you learnt from your poetic journey that you may want to share please?

Nitin Soni Hello Vikas, I have read your poems. You are a wonderful poet. However, i would like to ask one question:
Do you care whether or not your words mean something to anyone, or is the writing a self serving exercise?

Vikas Pratap Singh Hii Nitin... primarily, it's a self-serving exercise for me to vent out my thoughts, ideas, feelings and give it an art shape into different kinds of poems..... but the second motive is always that people READ ME so I try to refine various drafts of my poems so that people may/shall also feel what I want to

Nitin Soni Haha...Better!
How difficult it is to edit or criticize your own work?
P.S: I am a very bad critic of my own work

Vikas Pratap Singh Shah... my poetic journey has been an experience of liberation for myself... the point here is "I write down myself on the paper" and hence get liberated... it's a kind of literary moksha, if you understand what I mean here
so that I sleep peacefully at the end and I love my sleep

Ankita Singhal which place is your favorite for writing? And the one that inspires the most?

Veena Nigam Many poets are writing satires about corruption in the country. Do you think it can help in any way ?

Nitin Soni Yes i do understand, my young bard!
Question: What makes you think that you are a poet?
(Smiling)

Vikas Pratap Singh Nitin... buddy, you are a wonderful poet. I really read yours, Diwakar's, Shalini's poems regularly to learn how my fellow contemporaries are putting themselves forward..... and hence based upon subtle observations, I try to better my work thro' editing. To give variety to my self-editing, I provide my english poems (to be forwarded to any contest, etc.) to some faithful friends of mine (Shiksha, Ankita, even Shalini too sometimes) ...

They give me suggestions, I incorporate some of them and then again self-edit it vigorously. And criticism is always welcome. Sometimes, I myself don't like my work, some are left in slumber for a long period due to this, some I even discard... that's how I self-critic my poems

Vikas Pratap Singh Ankita... my fav. place of writing is my personal bed. At any time, it is connected to my PC, books, water, snacks :P)
Most of the inspirations I get either in my dreams, or while taking a bath (many poetic ideas are lost due to unavailability of writing them down hence, so less throughput of mine )

Vikas Pratap Singh Veena.... everyone has a way of dealing with corruption in their own ways... if someone is writing a satire on it, he must first believe that by doing this he is keeping/convincing himself ro remain corruption-free as well as his intended readers

Vikas Pratap Singh Nitin.... a person becomes anything (poet, artist, etc.) when he can feel that vibration within him which pushes him to do his work. Since I tend to write down my feelings in the form of poems, and not only that, I constantly read various greatest poets (sometimes repeatedly) as well as my friends ( Dinesh Gupta, Anant Bhardwaj, etc. ) to learn more and more about this art..... thus, I believe myself to be a poet too

Nitin Soni Haha...i reckon you have read my last status.
"The one who hides sorrow becomes a comedian; the one who doesn't becomes a poet!"
lol

Vikas Pratap Singh yes, that is a fantastic quote, Nitin

Nitin Soni That's why it's posted on wall

Nitin Soni Question: What is poetry?

Vikas Pratap Singh Nitin.... Poetry is a medium to link ourselves with our inner soul and finding the drive/strength to outperform the anxieties of the world we live in... to find peace in chaos

Joginder Singh how u get ideas for poetry..??,,,what is the source of ideas for u ????...

Dinesh Gupta @Vikas hi..

Dinesh Gupta What is Poetry for you.....

Nitin Soni Is Poetry Written Or Revealed?

Vikas Pratap Singh Joginder... well, the ideas are either in my head or in my surroundings. I just have to pause on them for a minute and if I feel I can write on it, I start forming lines/stanzas and then put them down on paper

Vikas Pratap Singh Dinesh... just answered your question above... and here it is again --> Poetry, for me, is a medium to link ourselves with our inner soul and finding the drive/strength to outperform the anxieties of the world we live in... to find peace in chaos

Vikas Pratap Singh Nitin... Poetry is neither written nor revealed alone. It is formed (revealed) at the very moment when an idea/thought/feeling is captured/struck upon and combined with the words is let down (written) on any surface

Joginder Singh for forming lines/stanzas ..how u get proper words which r for poetry ...???....any help from books...?

Vikas Pratap Singh Joginder... nice point there! See, the thing is if I don't read for very long, I start having difficulties in forming and framing my lines/stanzas ..... so, atleast for me it is much beneficial to read first of all, then if I get an idea and I still don't have the proper resource in my head to frame it down, I take the help of Google Translate as well as Google Search

Nitin Soni Somebody had asked this question in one of the LinkedIn groups. I would like to ask the same question: Are you a poet of exotic places, of uncertain horizons, full of mystery, of places where no one knows what will there be?

Vikas Pratap Singh Nitin... I am afraid I am not such a poet coz I've never written on unchartered places, or mystery. I don't know whether I would write a poem on any such genre, but certainly I can write on them in prose. Poetry might pose a limitation for me here.

Veena Nigam Thanks Vikas for sharing your beautiful ideas with us.

Vikas Pratap Singh thanks to you too, Veena ji, for making this event wonderful with your questions

Shiksha Sharma Are there particular people who are inspirations for ur poems?
Is there a muse? People you love writing about

Vikas Pratap Singh Well Shiksha, an artist is never bound by a single muse, quite literally There have been people/incidents in my life who have time immemorial became part of my poems... so yes, various inspirations over time, and counting

Shiksha Sharma Great

Shiksha Sharma What about social causes..is there any cause , close to ur heart, that you try putting forward through ur poetry.?

Vikas Pratap Singh Most of my poems carry themes related to love in one or the other way. If you see from this angle, I am always striving to put forward the cause of selfless love to all, for all. The other main cause which can be observed in my creations is that of happiness, i.e, to live everyday being happy coz that's the biggest gift to mankind; we CAN feel/distribute/contribute happiness

Another main cause highlighted is the beauty of Nature, and also what Man has done with it in his own greed and technological advancement.

Shiksha Sharma That is an interesting thought Vikas Pratap Singh

Dharmendra Patel Let us start with beginning, when you started poetry writing ? What(Who) is inspiration behind your literature writing ?

Vikas Pratap Singh Dharmendra.... Well, my poetry writing got started only after I got admission in my engg. college. I met a few good poets there who became my close friends. Reading their old poems which were really v. good coupled with my overflowing emotions for love at teenage propelled me to write my own poem, but it resulted out to be a total disaster Over the course, it became better and better and a time came in my pre-final year when my hindi poem 'Raat aur Taare' was adjudged joint 2nd best poem for our institute's official annual magazine

The first inspiration behind my creations, of course for anybody it's like that only, was a girl whom I was not destined to meet perhaps. Over the course of time, my inspirations got diverse and so did my poetry, I guess!

Dharmendra Patel well, next......When did you realize that you are a writer?

Vikas Pratap Singh Dharmendra... Till the time, that hindi of poem 'Raat aur taare' got the attention among my fellow students, I was a very amateurish poet. But after that, I started taking my writing more seriously, and a crucial time came while undergoing my post-induction training at Pune that my writing underwent a huge change of perspective, like life infused into a seed after its toiling under land and it becomes a plant then.

And now it's a cherished dream since then to have my own poetry collection published

Ankita Singhal Vikas Pratap Singh We hope your dream do some true very soon.

Dharmendra Patel best of luck for ur future writing and we hope soon ur collection will publish. now next......How do you handle a bad review of your poetry?

Vikas Pratap Singh
=========

अपनेपन का एहसास होता है;

खुद से कुछ बातें करने;

इन चाँद-तारों का साथ;

तो गम न होगा मेरे यार;

सपनों में खो जाता हूँ;

Ankita Singhal I heard that you are a lyricist too... please tell something about it. About the songs you have written.

Vikas Pratap Singh Dharmendra... I really admire people who honestly critic my work. If it's +ve, I feel happy and motivated to continuing doing so. It it's -ve, I ask the person the reason behind their dislike, and if he/she is able to justify it, I accept it whole-heartedly and try to add those things into my mindframe to constructive filter out the negatives from my future works.

Dharmendra Patel I read your 'raat aur taare' poem. really nice one. And next Q is from your above poem.........What do you want the world to know about you?

Vikas Pratap Singh Ankita.. an unexpected turn in the interview

I have written a few hindi songs (genre: love, sad, happy) and have sung them too in my own voice (which people should avoid listening to for the obvious reasons). You can find them here though -->

https://soundcloud.com/vikas-pratap-singh/ with the title VPS1-meri chahat.... .and VPS2 - mitt sa gaya hoon

That said and done, lyrics writing is a totally different art and I have yet to learn so many aspects of it (like छंद, etc.)

Vikas Pratap Singh Dharmendra... With that poem in perspective, I am just describing my feeling how I feel lonely but also find solace among the company of stars and a moon-like face in my dreams.... that's all!

Outside that perspective (with no ref. to that poem), I just hope the world recognizes me for who I am. I don't want to be a mega-celebrity like Dr. Kumar Vishwas... just that I get noted for my good works. Additionally, I wish to touch others' lives by being a point of happiness in their lives that's why my pen-name 'हितैषी' / 'hitaishi', meaning well-wisher

Dharmendra Patel see you after dinner.......

Ankita Singhal Vikas Pratap Singh 'mitt sa gaya hoon' song is quite awesome... but yes you should avoid singing but lyrics are good of both the songs.

Vikas Pratap Singh DK Patel... see you AT dinner I am coming too, need a break for half an hour or so

People, let your questions pour in. I will join you in a short time to reply to your engaging queries. I am loving it

Vikas Pratap Singh Ankita... I should thank you for liking the lyrics atleast, if not my singing Anyways, singing part is also getting better with time (you should listen to Tum Hi Ho rendition of mine at that page; it's much better sung than my own written songs... but still, singing is not my major cup of tea)

Satish Verma Your poems are very amusing , how you get your inspirations ? Whether you give cognizance to your own experiences in your creations ?

Diwakar Pokhriyal Does Language plays a vital role for a poet???

Vikas Pratap Singh Satish ji... Thank you for your appreciation, sir! My inspirations come from a jungle of my own thoughts, feelings, and surroundings. Normally, I tend to write atleast a 2- or 4-liner stanza randomly out of my current frame of mind before retiring to bed to sleep blissfully

Most part of my creations is formed out of my experiences only, or I should be observing someone's situation/condition very closely to write about without the hindrance of my experiences (there have been such circumstances)

Dharmendra Patel It means you are writing daily some of your feelings but.....Any feelings and ideas which you want to express through poetry but haven’t yet?

Vikas Pratap Singh Diwakar... I think of poetry as a medium of expression but for that convection to take place, poetry also needs a medium of language. Personally, I feel more comfortable and powerful with words while writing a poem in hindi than english, though I write in both languages.

The thoughts are language-free of course, but to express them in a perfect way requires the use of language one feels empowered in, I feel.

Diwakar Pokhriyal Almost every poet/artist says "Poetry/Art is medium of Expression" but don't you think ..labeling poetry/art as a medium of expressions is just one facet of it??

Vikas Pratap Singh Yes Dharmendra, if you follow my poetry page regularly, you'll find my posts atleast 5 times in a week (unofficial survey :D)

The second part of your question is amusing, for I did try writing my poems under the genres of comedy, satire, patriotism.. but most of them are still not complete. Hopefully I will tend to them soon; thanks for reminding me!

Shiksha Sharma Do you sit and think through every word of every stanza or do you just write freely and allowing the words to flow? How do you prefer your poems to be..structured or unstructured, considering you feel poetry is a "medium of expression"?

Vikas Pratap Singh Diwakar... hmm, well pointed out! Here I would like to say that poetry is both an art as well as a craft. Those who take it as art go with defining their expressions in their poems; those who perceive it as a craft cater to a different facet of it, like you mentioned, who can write on anything given the prompt

And if I am not wrong, you come under both the categories pretty well as far as I have observed your poetry

Diwakar Pokhriyal Just one more question...Do you ever thought to gift anything to your gift ( of writing poetry).......What would you gift your gift if you ever want to ???

Vikas Pratap Singh Shiksha... a good question! Normally when I am in the poem writing zone, I let my thoughts freely into different stanzas totally out of order. Simultaneously and later also, if I get stuck somewhere with a word, or I feel something is not doing proper justice to underlying thought/feeling of mine, I search for proper word using Google Search as well as Google Translate... and then structure my poem suitably.

In short, it has to be a free flow at first, but later it needs structuring in my case

Shiksha Sharma Okay Vikas One more question, How do you feel when someone reads one of your poems and comes up with an interpretation of it far from what you intended? that happens a lot of times when I read your poems

Vikas Pratap Singh Diwakar... wow, excellently put-up!

I regularly devour poems of my favourite poets as well as a variety of other gifted ones out there to hone my gift (of writing poetry) with new words, newer ideas, better structures, exemplary flow of emotions

Diwakar Pokhriyal I wish you luck & positivity in all your future endeavors Keep writing

Dharmendra Patel your favourite poets ..............Who is your favourite poet and for what reason are they your favourite poet ?

Vikas Pratap Singh Shiksha... that's absolutely possible, and quite often happens with my readers too (like you, Sahil, and Ankita who regularly keep giving me feedback)

I take it very honorably, I should say! I like it when someone else provides totally different interpretations to my poems

Sahil Mahajan Hi Vikas ...Today People are losing interest in Hindi.....What do you feel can be done to promote Hindi?

Vikas Pratap Singh Dharmendra... I think that question has been answered before.. let me just paste it here again -->

My favourite poets are -- Harivanshrai Bachchan, Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Tagore, Robert Frost, Dushyant Kumar among others

Bachchan's poems are full of life and romance, Dinkar is best for his zeal and powerful poetic narrative, Frost gives life's mantra in his poems, Tagore is unparalleled in every creation of his, Dushyant Kumar's hindi ghazals are hard-hitting realities

Shiksha Sharma ^ excellent question Sahil..

Dinesh Gupta @Sahil very nice Question...I am really worried ....ek to angrezi vaise hi young generation par havi hai and uske uppar gadhya padhya pe havi hai...aise me kavita kaise bachegi...

Dharmendra Patel thanks vikas for a nice interaction...... best of luck for your future . good night

Vikas Pratap Singh Sahil... the problem here is with our education system (which doesn't promote hindi and sanskrit) as well as our parental generation (they are always pressurizing their wards to communicate in english)

To preserve and promote any language, first of all we should feel proud in it. We must provide exposure of our vast and rich literature to our young generations from earlier classes. Students should be given opportunities where they should interact in Hindi like debates, speeches, quizzes, poetry recitation events.

Vikas Pratap Singh It was lovely to have you here, Dharmendra. Thanks for your time and patience. Have a good night!

Shiksha Sharma You are a North Indian living in south..Do you feel only the education system is to be blamed or even the mindsets of people? have you ever faced any sort of discrimination or humiliation being in a place whose native language you do not know

Vikas Pratap Singh Shiksha... the education system is one of the drawbacks behind the lack of Hindi usage in our current generation. People do discriminate sometimes on the basis of language, but to feel or not to feel humiliation is totally up to us. If someone keeps talking to me in a language unknown to me despite himself knowing/learning the fact, then either I ignore him or respond in my own hindi/english. Either the point gets sorted out or it is not; but we should not let others humiliate us for that

Shiksha Sharma Okay

Sahil Mahajan agreed Vikas...

Vikas Pratap Singh

Sahil Mahajan any specific topic in poetry which u have not explored till now, but would like to explore?

Vikas Pratap Singh Sahil... already answered... here it's copy-pasted again -->

I did try writing my poems at times under the genres of comedy, satire, patriotism.. but most of them are still not complete (but not discarded ). Hopefully I will tend to them soon.

Sahil Mahajan k

Sahil Mahajan u r also planning to write novel....tell us about that

Hash Mash Hello Vikas, I want to know about your first poem that u wrote.

Hash Mash How it started,, what was the starting point. Are u pursuing ur hobby or is it something u really enjoy.

Vikas Pratap Singh Writing novel has been my dream for a very long time since my school days. In fact, my poetry started very late in its comparison.

But the world (a very small %age though) knows me as a poet first, because poetry is less time-consuming and more rewarding.... Work on my novel(s) is also under-way but at a very slow rate as of now since most of the times, I am into reviewing the latest novels on my blog (http://vps3361.blogspot.in )

You just reminded me of that dream of mine, Sahil, and that I have to work harder in this respect. My target is to complete it and publish it by the end of 2014 (next year)

Shaurya... the couragevps3361.blogspot.com

Sahil Mahajan u have decided on the theme?

Vikas Pratap Singh hello Hash Mash... the first ever poem I wrote was dedicated towards a girl whom I used to like in my teenage years, but the poem turned out to be a disaster

Earlier I pursued it as a hobby only. But lately it has become an unending passion, a crucial part of my daily life

Vikas Pratap Singh Sahil.. Yes, the theme for my debut novel had been decided last year only, I guess! Rather I have the theme ready for one more novel sereis of mine long back. Just EXECUTION is what is missing

Sahil Mahajan all the best for ur series.....Hope you write your novel in some poetic way

Hash Mash Isn't ur story like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, first going wayward in life then getting a direction and afterwards losing your girl.

Hash Mash who knows after few years it will be BHAAG VIKAS BHAAG....I expect the same from you

Vikas Pratap Singh Sahil.. the novel will be in prose only, friend, just like other fiction novels

Sahil Mahajan or may be Likh Vikas Likh

Vikas Pratap Singh @hash mash ... Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is a very inspiring story of a legend. But mine is quite different. Life does not offer same fruits to everyone.

Vikas Pratap Singh Sahil... haan, ye zaroor ho sakta hai quite possible

Hash Mash The legend was a commoner till he took the first step..and u have written ur first poem

Vikas Pratap Singh Quite right, Hash Mash That first poem was written in the later half of 2005, I remember! It has been a long and arduous but rewarding journey of 8 years

Hash Mash I would like you to throw some light on the composition of a poem e.g. how to start , how to pen it, how to organize, how to find the suitable words to fit in.

Hash Mash It comes naturally to you or you work hard on it

Vikas Pratap Singh @hash mash ... there is no particular starting or end point for poems in my case. Whenever I feel, I just start writing. Most of the times, the first lines I write do not form the starting lines of the poem (they may come in the middle or at the end of that poem). So just write first underlying that basic idea (on which you are composing your poem). Start organizing it a bit later. You have to CHOOSE the words to fit the description of idea/thought/feeling/emotion in your mind/heart.

So just start writing. Initially no one knows how to hold a bat perfectly or how to hit a four/six. It all comes with practice usually and giving time to your hobby/passion on regular basis

Vikas Pratap Singh @hash mash... sometimes, it comes quite natural as lightning among the clouds, and sometimes, I have to work hard and wait (like we wait for the rain falling from clouds).

Every cloud isn't meant to drain out, same way sometimes we should learn to discard a piece of poem which is not getting composed acc. to our expectations

Vikas Pratap Singh @hash mash .... if you want to learn this art, then start reading first. Read as many poems as you can (whichever language you want to write in), then only you'll get an idea how to put the formation of words in a stanza (same way as you learn how to ride bicycle by observing others paddle it and then practising on your own)

don't worry if you aren't writing good at the start (you always fall down while learning to ride bicycle)... give yourself time.

Rhyming or non-rhyming that you have to decide, your own choice how you would like to enjoy reading your poem

Vikas Pratap Singh If there are no more questions coming, I would like to rest now for the night. Any further questions, I will try to reply as and when I find the time tomorrow. Thanks all of you for your active participation and making today's evening one of the most memorable ones for me.

Hope we remain in contact through my poetry page --> VPS '

Good night, everyone!
